TGIF X iworemySTYLE Edition II

It's been long since the time I had promised you guys about posting this particular post on my blog. But it's never too late right?! I've been in a rather lethargic mood lately.Meetings every second day and some on and off family affair leaves me exhausted by the end of the day. But wait I'm not complaining there! Just a little cribbing!

This post or rather this whole shoot is really close to my heart. Not everyday do you get a chance to work with your BFF who happens to be a stylista and who has also been rocking her own blog TGIF (Thank God It's Fashion), The location which was a poolside made me wear this amazing floral dress which is apt for a fun weekend luncheon with my girls! The look is fun and refreshing which gives you a breathe of fresh air admist the burning heat of Kolkata.
Tanumita of TGIF chose a aqua blue cut out dress for a more vibrant yet fresh look!

Also watch out for all behind the scene fun in the video!

Cape'd

I have always been a lover of simplicity and I try keeping my outfits as simple and comfortable as possible. You must have noticed that I hardly accessorize my looks but honestly I love accessories and I go to another level when I spot some nice pieces. But then most of the time I let my outfit do all the talking and let it grab all the attention that it needs!

If you have seen my earlier posts you must have realized by now that I'm a sucker for kimonos and this kimono cape just blew me away the very moment I saw it and I had to get my hands on it. I paired them with this super comfy dark blue high waist-ed denim and a tank. I tied a knot around the waist line of the tank to give the outfit some structure and not make it look it like I just got out of the bed! The block heels that I've paired with the look is super comfy too, If you are not too comfortable wearing high heels and dread them, you can always opt for block heels as they are very comfortable and they hardly hurt your feet!

Stripe me!

I have been loving sneakers with everything these days.Be it jeans, joggers, dresses or skirts I have been pairing it with everything. It's so convenient and easy to move around in these. I feel it's not always necessary to pair a dress or skirt with nice chunky heels. You can always team them with sneakers or flatforms which are really IN right now.

I paired my skirt with a striped peplum top which I had got around 2 years back. It saved the whole outfit from being very plain. I wore a pair of sneakers to complete the look as it's very comfortable and it adds a casual hint to the whole outfit.
You can also transform this casual day look to a glam night look by ditching the sneakers and throwing on a nice pair of heels. Accessorize the look with nice danglers or hand cuffs and you're good to go!

Layering the Distressed

I have been really worked up lately and haven't actually got the time to shoot and post regularly. And also the rains got worse and made things all the more difficult. Meanwhile I managed to visit TONI & GUY to chop off my locks and get a graduated bob done, which literally saved the "manage my hair" part. But now that I've got some time off from work I've been spending all my time at home relaxing or catching up with my friends who have been complaining ever since. I miss being busy but I missed my couch more. I'll try posting more often though I promise.

I have been crushing on this layering thing for a while now and It's like really astonishing on how it gives a whole new dimension to the same old basic outfit. Here, I have layered my basic distressed boyfriend denims by putting on a black longline sleeveless blazer. It immediately transformed the whole look from being oh so basic to Ooo that's fierce! I carried a fringe tote which I fell in love with the moment I spotted it on the shelves. It's so spacious that I can carry literally everything in it. About the look you can give the denims a ditch and go for something feminine like a pencil skirt or a structured dress.
