Wedding Spree

Finally it's December and Kolkata has cooled down for the time being. December being high on party mood also calls for a lot of wedding invitations. Such invitations make us go searching for the perfect outfit for the occasion. We happen to go haywire looking for the best outfit in various designer stores or we just boggle our minds going through various Instagram and Facebook pages and also websites of course for the outfit which grabs our heart.

It's astonishing on how few new designers sweep you off your feet like totally! I come across so many new designers on Instagram on everyday basis and it's nice to see some really unique pieces that leave a long lasting impact, wanting to get your hands on each and every piece that manages to catch your attention. When it comes to Indian attire I happen to be very very choosy. I am very specific on what I want and too much of bling does not really please me. I prefer my outfit to be elegant always. So whenever I find such pieces I am in total awe.

I came across this brand Abjini by Abhishruti Dutta on Instagram a few weeks back and I must say that I was really awed by her collection. Based in Kolkata this budding designer has an amazing creative side and is true to her style. Her designs are very new and different. The color palette, the designs and the creativity behind every piece is so unique that it's intriguing. Her contemporary and modern take on the traditional outfits is a pleasure to watch and to give it a try this wedding season. Abhishruti Dutta being a really young designer has so much in store. I chose this powder blue floral lehenga from her collection because I really couldn't get it off my head for days. The fit is amazing and true to your measurement. Abhishruti's modern twist to the Indian outfits have floored me like literally. The sequins net cape attached to the the crop top makes the piece different from the regular skirt and crop top sets or lehenga. It's like a modern take on the lehenga. I'd rather have the dupatta attached to the choli/crop top for a chic and hassle free look because honestly I suck when it comes to keeping the dupatta in place, so this outfit was a total win win for me. I kept everything else simple because the outfit stands out for itself.

If you're worried whether or not you can get your hands on her amazing designs, guess what?! they ship nationwide!
So if you're planning for a contemporary kinda wedding outfit for your friend's or relative's wedding you've got to check out her collection like right now!!

Cape Attack

I have been feeling kind of low since the past few days because it's December already and there's no sign of winters yet here in Kolkata. It's a little chilly during mornings but the temperature sores high by afternoon. Sigh! Can't really wait to feel the chill this year.

Anyways I came across this Kolkata based quirky designer, Yamini Malani a few days back and she made me fall in love with the present weather again. Though I've been cribbing a lot for winters but it all vanished amidst the heat (guessing) when I went through her collection. I stopped all the cribbing and started loving the weather as it is at the moment. Yamini's collection happens to be very preppy and unique. The colors are bright and refreshing. She believes that quirky is what keeps us going! So, this season she came up with this awesome range of Cover-Ups which she believes breaks the monotony of original clothing. There are times when we hope there was that one piece in our closet which would change the whole outfit game and such are these pieces.

I paired a sheer cape from her recent collection with my floral midi skirt and I fell in love with the whole look. The cape is so light weight that you can hardly feel that you have a cape on. The cape enhances the whole outfit and adds that oomph!

So,go get quirked!

Ft. Aiqon Watches ( Look 1)

When it comes to choosing a watch everyone of us is very particular on what we want. For me the watch should speak every bit of classy. Be it casual or dressy the watch needs to compliment our outfit.I came across Aiqon Watches a few weeks back and it was like I found something extraordinary after quite sometime. Aiqon watches have genuine fusion dials and are curated and are exclusive objects of art. Sometimes the themes/ideas are subtly imbibed in the dial design, and sometimes they are brought to life boldly and expressively. It is a true adornment of functional art to your wrist. Also their watches are made of stainless steel.

Kolkata doesn't really face extreme winter phase and also their is no sighting of winter here as of now,but the weather at the moment is my favorite time of the year. Since it's fall and there is a slight chill in the weather outside I tried to keep my look very simple yet edgy. I chose to wear a black skater skirt with a casual white shirt and layered it with a denim jacket. I chose to ditch the heels for my booties because Hey,It's fall already! The Maximum City 2015 absolutely compliments the look.Normally when we see yellow gold dials we think of the the brass case watches our parents wore. But these pieces are enhanced keeping the traditionalism intact but infused with the modern touch which is so much better.Though the watch might seem like it's made for men and it is designed that way but breaking the stereotype is what I believe in. You can log on to their website (here) for more details about their watches and their collection. Since it's a growing brand the watches are available at minimum pricing at the moment. So don't miss out on the steal and grab your pieces right now.

Diva Mode

Midi skirts did hold a great part in the fashion trend this year. It was literally everywhere, and by literally I mean LITERALLY! Though I never really thought they would stick so much outside their professional-office-borderline-evening-outfit-quality. Well, they did and in the best way possible.
I personally find midi skirts be it flared or pencil or rather anything to be very poised and sophisticated. The best thing is that you can wear it anywhere and everywhere. There are so many styles and designs for absolutely any occasion.  Pair it with crop tops, fitted tops, knits or just throw on a denim jacket over your crop you can go wild really. You can also wear it for a casual day out with friends by pairing it with a nice shirt and a pair of sneakers or brogues or even sandals if you are a sucker for comfort! And for the glam night out you can pair it like the way I did here. The boat neckline enhances and highlights your neck area. The metal grey skirt has my heart at the moment so enough said!  Make sure you keep the color palette in mind while some mix and match. Mix prints maybe like stripes on your top and floral on your bottom. Play around and have some fun.
